Zillah Veterans Memorial
Completed in late 2017, the American Legion, City of Zillah and area businesses came together to create a beautiful commemorative park to honor the armed services and veterans of foreign wars. The memorial is in the Teapot Dome Memorial Park in downtown Zillah.
Walk along the pathway to see the 21 granite sentinels engraved with the names of the area’s veterans who served with honor and distinction, as well as flags of the armed services branches and the American Legion.
The centerpiece of the cul da sac at the end of the walkway is a distinctive bronze Fallen Soldier Battle Cross. The battle cross with a rifle, and a pair of boots with a helmet atop it, is a symbolic replacement of a cross on the battlefield or at the military base camp for a service member who has died in action.
Families of U.S. Veterans can memorialize their service by having their name engraved on a sentinel in the park. Download this brochure for more information.
Zillah Fallen Firefighters Memorial
Also on the site of the Veterans Memorial and Dome Teapot, visit the firefighters memorial with a statue of a firefighter, benches and a memorial wall engraved with the names of 12 local firefighters who have died in the line of duty.
The project was organized by the Zillah Volunteer Firefighters Association and the Zillah High School FFA chapter and was dedicated in 2015.
